After a delicious breakfast drive just half an hour to the stunning Lake Bohinj located in the middle of the Triglav National Park. Here you can take a boat ride and experience the unspoilt majestic beauty of Lake Bohinj. Ride the cable car to Mount Vogel at 1537 metres (5,042 feet) above sea level from here you can admire some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. Find one of the Alpine huts and enjoy a tasty traditional meal. On your way back to Bled you can stop at the St. John church.

After breakfast drive to Kranjska Gora. Take a walk through this lovely Alpine village and a little further along the road is the beautiful Lake Jasna with spectacular views, viewing platform and legendary Chamois statue Golden Horn.  As you drive up further into the mountains towards the Vršič Pass make a stop at the historic Russian chapel. At the top of Vršič pass the views breath-taking, so a perfect place to stop at the Alpine hut. As you descend the pass into the Soča Valley, on your way to Bovec, turn into the Zgornja Trenta Valley where you can visit the source of the Soča River (about a 20 minute walk). The colour of the Soča River will amaze you, like jade green glass. Nearby Lepena Valley is also beautiful and worth exploring. Overnight in Bovec.

After breakfast drive to Kobarid following the Soča River, this town under the mighty Mount Krn is known for the Battle of Caporetto (1917). Today there is a famous museum dedicated to the events of the First World War on the Isonzo Front. From Nova Gorica you make your way to the Škocjan Caves, either by the highway or if you prefer by taking the local roads, passing through small villages along the Karst Plateau. The Karst Plateau is well known for its vineyards and traditional Teran wine which compliments the locally dried meat, prosciutto. The Skocjan Caves are a UNESCO heritage site; they are of exceptional significance and beauty. Following the 2 hours walking tour of the caves continue the drive to the coast and the picturesque, charming old town of Piran. Overnight in Piran.

Piran is a picturesque and has Venetian style. Take a walk around this delightful seaside town early in the morning and watch it come to life. Starting near the harbour at the 19th century Tartini Square, named after the composer Giuseppe Tartini, continue with one of the most dramatically situated churches in Europe, St Georges Cathedral, perched on the hill, overlooking the sea and dominating the town. As you drive towards Ljubljana you can stop at the world famous Postojna Caves with its exciting train ride into the karst interior. Drop off the car at the Ljubljana Europcar city centre office.
