Italy's Biggest Attractions and Most Visited Cities   “In Italy, they add work and life on to food and wine”. Handcrafted Customised Tour Arriving in Milan than Come to Florence and the tour ends in Rome or visa versa with daily departure. When planning a trip to Italy looking at a map of Italy's best attractions and cities is a great way to gain perspective on your travel itinerary.

That way, you can make informed decisions about where you want to visit, how long you will need to explore each location, what time of year you want to travel, how you can get around from place to place most effectively, and most importantly what you want out of your trip.

The language spoken in Italy is Italian, but there are some local dialects that can be hard to understand for the casual Italian student. However, English is widely spoken in heavily touristed areas, so you should be able to find to find your way around without any problems.

Italy has a moderate climate and nice to travel around. In the south, rain is infrequent in the summer. In alpine regions, quick thunderstorms are frequent, even in summer. At or near sea level the average low temperature seldom dips below freezing.

Summer can be hot in August, Italians head to the beach and stay there. A better time to explore Italy is in the autumn months, It can be cool at night and there is more rain than during the summer months, but the temperatures and treats are worth the wetness.

In the summer, Italians eat lunch at around 1 in the afternoon and dinner around 8 in the evening. Lunch (pranzo) is often the main meal, and most stores close at 1 for a long period when many shopkeepers and shoppers alike flood to local restaurants. As a result, you should try to get to restaurants before 1 p.m. to avoid the rush.

A small trattoria may not have a wine list, but will always have a house wine (vino della casa). Water is safe to drink, but Italians prefer mineral water (acqua minerale) which is generally cheap

It is customary to leave small change for a tip, or up to five percent of the total bill if the service is good (some say 10 percent in a fancy ristorante where the service is impeccable). When ordering a coffee at a bar it is customary to leave a small coin for the person who makes and serves your coffee.

While you're there enjoying the food, don't forget to stay in some of the fantastic accommodations that Italy has to offer; there are usually abundant hotels near train stations really great hidden gems.

The hotels in Italy are rated by a government system that does not take into account the "charm" of a place.

When you're ready to travel, hope on Italy's extensive rail system or take one of the buses, which sometimes duplicate the rail routes. Many small cities in Italy have access to the larger cities close by through a twice-a-day bus trip, and bus stations are often found near the train station.

Trains and buses are subsidized, making Italian transportation slightly cheaper than most of the rest of Europe.

If you have several long legs planned for your Italian itinerary Italy Rail Pass can indeed save you money. Remember you need to take longer trips to make a pass worthwhile trains runs frequenly and confortable and fast, and the journeys are very senic.

Eurostar Italia are the fast trains of Italy, which are the best means of public transportation between some of Italy's most visited destinations. Here are some typical travel times in order to give a idea

  • Milan to Reggio Di Calabria: 11 hours
  • Milan to Venice: 2 hours, 45 minutes
  • Rome to Turin: 6 hours, 11 minutes
  • Rome to San Remo: 6 hours, 39 minutes
  • Rome - Venice: 4 hours, 33 minutes

Almost everybody knows the 3 biggest cities in Italy Rome, Venice, and Florence but one of the biggest mistakes travelers make is to try to see these beautiful cities in 10 days. While you can certainly travel to each of them within a week or ten days, experience these diverse and interesting places on your own pace.

Also, be sure to make the most out of your destinations. While you're in Florence, for instance, you'll want to make your way to other destinations in the Tuscany region like one of its many unique vineyards.

Rome is a fascination city with amazing history , culture and special shopping. In the summer Rome is hot and humid there are pickpockets to watch out for; people can be rude and they can be helpful in the same time. Rome's architecture is a jumble of modern, Baroque, Renaissance, and Roman

Rome is a great city to explore and to experience on your own without any problems of course. Don't be afraid of Rome. It's a great city and there's a bit of sidewalk and a bit of magic for everyone.

Than Venice the city of islands , romance and culture the gondola and great walks around and St Marco square and endless more to explore , also here Venice is easy to explore on your self the Island is small so you can never go wrong.

There many more places and cities to experience like Florence with great history and cultures located between Venice and Rome

All these places and cities are so easy and convinience to be visited on your own leisure time and travel confortable and special as couple or family reasonable in price transfers will be arrange travel by train, the hassle free travel solution

Venice was in the past a stable republican government led by a Doge (meaning "Duke" in the local dialect) and more importantly, it had wealth from trade, and a unique location as a gateway between Europe and Byzantium.   The Venetian trade networks helped to shape the then local painting practices. Ships from the East brought luxurious, exotic pigments, while traders from Northern Europe imported the new technique of oil painting and you will be able to feel this in the Art you will come across in its magnificent buildings.

The central position of your hotel will allow you to explore the city on foot, easily reaching sites of historical and artistic interest such as the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona, besides many famous restaurants of course; so time to stroll around is just perfect and oh so exciting!

There are so many incredible choices, which can be enjoyed during a stay in Rome, and sometimes it is only once you are there and feeling more confident and adventurous that you feel that you really need some Quality “YOU Time”… to may be fit in some excellent Shopping or maybe to chase off to somewhere to get some stunning panoramic views from high above the City…

So we thought we would leave you the possibility and the Freedom to do just that: go with the Flow of whatever appeals to you most

Some suggestions for your FREE TIME:

  • If you like to breathe in more Roman ambiance, then stroll the maze of narrow streets and cobbled alleys around the Pantheon and the bustling Piazza Navona. Here you are not far away from the famous shopping streets of Rome. For the best upscale shopping, go to the prestigious Via dei Condotti and Via Borgognona near the foot of the Spanish Steps.
  • Alternatively, you could go to the Via Vittorio Veneto: Walking down this elegant boulevard - as well as being renowned for its stylish hotels and lively bars - it will showcase some truly unique and exclusive stores from high fashion to authentic Italian boutiques.
  • For a great walk and wonderful outdoor experience, head to the Gardens of Villa Borghese. It is the largest public park in Rome featuring a lake, temples, fountains, statues and several museums, the most famous of which is The Borghese Gallery, which boasts some of the most splendid (and famous) works of Bernini and Caravaggio and offers one of the best collections of art related to sculpture, painting, and architecture (the building itself is also one of the attractions), so this is also another great place for a cultural experience

DAY 10 - OPTIONAL: ½ Day COLOSSEUM & STREET FOOD WALKING TOUR

Place visiting
Amphitheatrum Flavium , Colosseum , pectacular highlights of Imperial Rome , historic food stalls , lively Markets of the Capital , Vatican city
Today's Highlights

After breakfast at the Hotel you will meet up with your friendly English speaking Guide who can offer you a unique experience whilst strolling through the ancient parts of Rome, taking you back about 2000 years to the glories of the Roman Empire.

At that time, the citizens of Rome were witnessing the construction of one of its now best preserved buildings: The Amphitheatrum Flavium, better known as the Colosseum. Your Guide will show you around some of the most spectacular highlights of Imperial Rome and help you relive the days of the Ancient Romans: Find out why there is no floor in the Colosseum and hear all about what went on “down below” what the crowds of the Roman population could see; how the animals appeared seemingly from nowhere, as the sub-terranean population of slaves operated the hidden trap doors…

Your Guide will also show you another interesting, different side of Italy…

By now you will have probably heard the saying that the Italians “live to eat” and not vice-versa… well today should give you a pretty good confirmation of that:  – lots of things to see and even more to taste and sample, which will prove to you that ROMA is by no means just Art and History…

In fact, we believe that the best way to understanding the real Roman local life, is to look out for the small and historic food stalls; the local, lesser known bars of the capital and possibly visit one of the most important, lively Markets of the Capital and much more, all whilst taking in the historical  sights too.

The Roman cuisine might seem easy, but it is a process of many years, as your Guide will enlighten you, plus the combination of the experience of people from all over Italy who moved to the Capital and now make Roma so nice and friendly and even more delicious!

So ask your Guide to point you in the right direction for eating well during your stay; at some point you should definitely try to taste some true ‘pasta alla amatriciana’ just how the Italians make it in Roma, at a typical, small "osteria."
