From Toul we cycle in the direction of Liverdun

A small, charming fortress-city with a rich history situated at the Moselle’s riverside.

After a visit to this metropolitan city, the tour continues to the old

Or you can stay on board of La Belle Fleur and start your bike tour at Pont-à-Mousson.

After a visit to this city, which has a typical character because it is situated on both banks of the Moselle, you’ll bike through an old canaled part of the Moselle.

As you ride through, you will be amazed by the beauty of the area, as you eventually arrive at one of those typical quiet little French villages of Pompey.

This village seems to have gone to sleep under the vicinity of Metz and Nancy, and perhaps that’s how it got it’s quite nature

You ride past the remains of the Maginot Line, across shady bike paths to the very well-known city of Metz.

In short, today is dedicated to industrial heritage, nature, and for the perfect finish; examples of great cultural achievements.

Upon arrival in Metz, you can also participate in a guided walk through the city, not just to admire the Centre Pompidou, but also the Cathedral and so much more.

The narrow Moselle valley becomes flatter and wider.

This gives you the opportunity to make a deeper acquaintance with the country.

But before we leave Luxemburg we visit the small but famous village of Schengen.

There were once one of the most important treaty’s was signed, is now a European museum.
When it is coffee time, La Belle Fleur expects you in Thionville; a city that was rich in metal industry, but today it is primarily a city of beautiful buildings, left behind by the many conquests, such as the Romans, the Luxembourgers and the Spaniards.

On the way you can visit the small village of Ehnen.

After a walk through the old streets and narrows alleys, you can continue your bike tour to the old roman villa in Nennig,

where you can be amazed by the beautiful and well-kept tiles.

After dinner you can join the group for a visit of the wine cellar St. Martin.

On this trip, you will pass along several nice and cosy villages and wine yards and beautiful and peacefull French country side.

From here you will start a short bike trip along the river Sauer, which is a small border river that flows closely past the mooring place of the ship.

The crew of la Belle Fleur is saying farewell at the border village Wasserbillig and hope to see you back on a other BOAT & BIKE CRUISE  somewhere in the future.

The La Belle Fleur started cruising in 1992. From that moment on, the La Belle Fleur has been hosting successful bike and barge vacations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France and Germany. Since 2011 the La Belle Fleur has a new owner: Sander van der Veer. Under his management the La Belle Fleur is still a popular barge for boat and bike tours.

Interior of the La Belle Fleur : The La Belle Fleur has a cosy lounge with a self-service bar. The barge also has a beautiful large deck, where the meals of excellent quality, can be served if the weather is fine. On nice evenings or while cruising you can enjoy the scenery from the sundeck. Or find some relax time on our pool deck between Mai and September. In the lounge the La Belle Fleur offers Wi-Fi. Please note that due to the mobile network connection, the quality is not always stable.
Comfortable Cabins (8 m²) In front there are 9 comfortable twin cabins (8 m², single split level beds). Each cabin has a private shower, toilet, basin and hairdryer. Windows can be opened and the cabins have central heating.

La Belle Fleur complies with the strict safety regulations laid down by the Dutch Shipping Inspection Authorities. On board you find a cosy dining room, a sun deck to relax after your tour.
All our cabins are provided with hot and cold water, private shower and toilet, 220 voltage and central heating. There is limited storage space in the cabin. We recommend 1 suitcase per person. You can slide the suitcase under the bed.

Do not expect a cruise ship with its passive luxury.

The bike and barge holidays are for people who really enjoy the physical activity of cycling and who value sociability more than wholesale luxury.

By plane:
Airport: Luxemburg:
From the airport you can take the bus or train to Luxemburg city, here you can transfer to the train to Wasserbillig. There are 2 trains every hour going to Wasserbillig.

By train:
From the central station in Luxemburg city you can take the train to Wasserbillig (app. 45 min.) and it will cost you € 2,00 a person.

By car:
We do not recommend coming by car, because Wasserbillig and Toul don’t provide a lot of long stay parking space, however there are a few that can be used.
