While original wooden panelling and lavish furnishings dominate the hotel , the walls of the bar at The Gore have a distinctly rock 'n' roll vibe. Bar 190 is best known as the location for the launch and photoshoot for The Rolling Stones’ 1968 album Beggars Banquet, and the decor pays tribute to this event.
Bar 190 serves an extensive range of spirits, with notably large collections of whiskies and rums. The creative cocktail list takes full advantage of this huge variety, extending from classics – such as Martini and Negroni - to a range of gin and tonics based on botanical and citrus infusions.
Experience a flight of three Taittinger champagne tasters, each perfectly paired with a canapé.
• The Brut Réserve, complimented with a blini of caviar served with lime and chives cream
• The Prelude Cuvée, paired with a confit of chicken leg with sourdough bread and orange zest
• The Rosé, served with tomato confit and goats cheese on garlic crouton
Highlights
For an even more exclusive experience Bar 190 also offers a VIP area, 'Cinderella's Carriage'.

The first known reference to tea by an Englishman are the words of Richard Wickham, an English merchant abroad, dating from 1615: “Bring me a potof the best sort of chaw.” The creation of afternoon tea as a ritual is traditionally credited to Anna Russell, Duchess of Bedford at around 1840. She introduced the meal to ward off hunger between lunch and dinner. Throughout the history, tea has played an important role in the British society, evolving from a luxury good to a symbol of the essence of Englishness.Looking for the best place to have Afternoon Tea in London?

Founded in 1892, The Gore has become a legendary hotel, a symbol of the history of British hospitality.
Built as a serviced residence for visitors to London's Great Exhibition, under the patronage of Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria, it welcomed guests who wanted to stay in the heart of "the most fashionable area of the city ", that is to say in the houses at nos. 189 and 190 Queen's Gate, which form The Gore today.
Queen's Gate Mansions were a hotel in all but name, with liveried staff, horse-drawn carriages and a hydraulic lift – all considerable luxuries for the time. It built up a regular clientele over the years, including many leading names from the artistic scene of the period, who found a tranquil refuge at The Gore where they could feel inspired.
Today, following its 125th anniversary, history still permeates all its rooms, making The Gore one of the most charming hotels in London.
From antique carved beds to original artworks, each of the six floors is a treasure trove of period details and hand-picked pieces. Discover the luxury of yesteryear, immersed in the same atmosphere that has attracted celebrities, famous artists and aristocrats over the years, including Judy Garland, André Simon, Sir Malcolm Sargent, Tony Hancock, Lord Miles and Dame Nellie Melba.
All of The Gore's 50 lavishly appointed rooms and suites are individually furnished, creating a distinctive atmosphere that makes each one truly unique. They are all furnished with sophisticated elegance and a keen eye for detail, with beautiful antiques, period photos and ornately decorated beds.
In harmony with the hotel's distinguished charm, all the rooms offer every possible comfort and discreetly integrate the latest technology.
The Gore's strategic location just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall makes it the perfect place for pre- and post-theatre wining and dining.
At 190 Queen's Gate by Daniel Galmiche, Michelin-starred chef Daniel Galmiche interprets great British classics with a contemporary touch and exquisite French flair. The adjacent Bar 190, which famously hosted the Rolling Stones' Beggars Banquet album launch, has an informal, glamorous atmosphere, to be savoured while sipping the cocktail named after the prominent album.
