Getting Here

Parador Resort & Spa is located on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in Manuel Antonio near the town of Quepos. We’re easily accessible from the capital of San Jose by air or road. A 20-minute domestic flight is most convenient, but the scenic 2 ½-hour-drive through the mountains and down the coast is well worth considering.

Flights:

Both Nature Air and Sansa offer direct flights to Quepos (Sansa flies from the international terminal; Nature Air leaves from the domestic terminal, about 10 minutes away).

Shuttle service is usually scheduled between the two airports to coincide with domestic flights. Otherwise, you can just hop in one of the many waiting taxis outside the international arrival area.

HIGHWAY/SURFACE ROADS (about 2 ½ hours)

Upon exiting the main terminal of Juan Santa Maria International Airport, take a left. Continue past the gas station and take your second right. Stay on this road for about one mile until you reach a small bridge, followed almost immediately by an intersection.

At this intersection take a left and continue on this road until you reach another intersection with signs indicating COYOL to your right and GUACIMA to your left.Veer left towards GUACIMA and turn right at the first road you see following a new sign for TURRUCARES.

Continue on this road for approximately two miles until you reach a turnabout leading towards the highway. Follow the signs to OROTINA AND ATENAS. Once you’ve arrived in OROTINA follow the signs to JACO (about an hour’s drive).

You will pass the TARCOLES RIVER and CARARA PARK (where you can stop to observe the river’s resident crocodiles). When you reach JACO stay on the main road (do not turn off into the village) and continue straight into PARRITA, the last major town you will see before reaching QUEPOS (about a half hour drive).

Once you arrive in “downtown” QUEPOS, turn left past the small park and drive up the mountain road towards Manuel Antonio National Park. You simply cannot get lost here, as this is the only street leading towards the beach area.

You will not continue all the way to the park, but rather make a right at the point where the hill starts descending (Barba Roja Restaurant will be on your right and Café Milagro on your left.) At the turn you will see a large sign for Parador Resort & Spa. Follow this jungle road until the very end (about 1.5 kilometers or about a mile) at which point you’ll see the sprawling grounds of our resort. Welcome to paradise!

This is a fun (and stealthily educational) activity for nature lovers of all ages! *Please note – although this is a fairly easy trek, it is recommended that participants be in reasonable physical condition.

He or she will also share extensive information about everything you see.  From the Park’s entrance, you will journey on the main Forest Trail for an hour to 1½ hours, which will lead you to the Park’s spectacular white sand beaches where you can take a short break (you will have one hour to stop and swim).

Hotel Description

WELCOME TO PARADOR RESORT & SPA

FRIENDLY BY NATURE. RESPONSIBLE BY CHOICE.

One of Costa Rica’s most prestigious eco-hotels, Parador is the epitome of “responsible luxury.” The resort is located on the Punta Quepos promontory in Costa Rica, surrounded by 12 acres of wildlife-rich tropical rainforest with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio.

With such close proximity to a national park, it is no wonder the hotel gardens receive any number of very unique visitors on a daily basis, including several species of monkeys, sloths and a wonderful variety of birds.

And thanks to its privileged location set between the jungle and the beach, Parador Resort & Spa is an ideal destination for couples, families and even incentive groups. There’s truly something for everyone here—and it’s first class all the way!

OUR MISION

Exceed the expectation of our knowledgeable and demanding customer in an atmosphere of leisure and adventure, strengthening harmony between the HOTEL PARADOR family, nature and social development

OUR VISION

Consolidate our leadership that makes us the No. 1 Resort in Costa Rica.
Take the HOTEL PARADOR to his peak performance and develop new projects that will further extend our vision.

Parador Resort & Spa is built high above the sweeping Pacific coastline on Punta Quepos, Costa Rica, on 12 acres of wildlife-rich tropical rainforest. The epitome of responsible luxury, Parador has earned multiple awards including Costa Rica’s Leading Resort 2011 (World Travel Awards), the 5-Leaf Sustainability Award issued by the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) and, most recently, the prestigious Platinum Level “Leader in Sustainable Tourism” Adrian Award from HSMAI and National Geo Traveler.

This Costa Rica resort features well-appointed rooms and suites, several restaurants featuring diverse menus, multiple bars and lounges, a world-class spa, a tennis court, three ocean-view pools and generous meeting facilities. It is located near Manuel Antonio, a beach and adventure hot spot known for its famed National Park

Why Parador?

A parador (“stopping place”) is a staple of the Spanish countryside, when old castles and convents were transformed into hostelries for weary knights and travelers. Inspired by these welcoming retreats, the Dutch Schans family opened the doors of their own parador in Costa Rica in 1995.

Today, Parador Resort & Spa is the only full-service resort located in Manuel Antonio. We have earned a number of prestigious awards not only for our world-class service and amenities, but also for our passionate commitment to both the environment and the community.

Our range of accommodation options go from the excellent to the absolutely amazing, and our location is second to none.

We offer an oasis of calm with soaring views surrounded by lush rainforest, where you’ll spend your Costa Rica vacation blissfully isolated from the hustle and bustle of the main drag, but just minutes from Manuel Antonio National Park, miles of white sand beaches, restaurants, the local airport and the village of Quepos.

Why Manuel Antonio?

Framed by both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, Costa Rica has many beaches to choose from. So why pick Manuel Antonio for your honeymoon, wedding or Costa Rican family-friendly vacation?

For starters, Manuel Antonio is home to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park, a lush rainforest reserve packed with indigenous wildlife.

But beyond that, it’s also the only place in the country where the jungle literally tumbles onto miles of white sand beaches and clear waters.

This scenic panorama serves as a backdrop for every conceivable activity on your Costa Rica vacation wish list: beach comb, surf, fish, kayak, zip-line or walk through the jungle, water rafting, or ride on an ATV, the list is endless!

Adrian Award 2012 “Leader in Sustainable Tourism”

In February 2012, the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) presented Parador Resort & Spa with the Platinum award for “Leader in Sustainable Tourism” during 55th annual Adrian Awards at the New York Marriott Marquis.

The hotel was recognized along with top companies and individuals in hospitality, travel and tourism for achievements in advertising, public relations and digital marketing.

Chosen by a judging committee from National Geographic Travel and HSMAI, Parador was upheld as a leading example of sustainable leadership in tourism and hospitality, having shown definite leadership and innovation in preserving and communicating an authentic sense of place through its wisely managed tourism campaign.
